• A 1961 Chevrolet Impala, displayed by Nathaniel La barre of Hillsboro, which received the Pacific University President’s Award.

• A 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, brought by Doug Meyer of Bend, which received the Arnold N. Franks Memorial Sweepstakes, sponsored by the Forest Grove Rotary Club.

The all-volunteer display, developed by the Rotary Club of Forest Grove considering the fact that 1973, is the greatest and longest-functioning Concours d’Elegance in the Pacific Northwest.

Like quite a few event organizers, the club’s Concours committee cancelled the in-person 2020 exhibit, opting for a virtual Concours as a substitute. Last July, they hosted a much lesser “Classics on Principal.”

“We had to make the tricky final decision to postpone the 48th exhibit in the two 2020 and 2021,” said Ryan Garcia, a club member who chaired this year’s concours steering committee. “Absolutely everyone I have talked to, from volunteers to motor vehicle homeowners, was ecstatic to welcome the community again for the 2022 exhibit.”

The function is the assistance organization’s largest annual fundraiser, with internet proceeds divided equally amid the club’s scholarship method and group support initiatives. Thanks to the Concours d’Elegance, the Rotary Club of Forest Grove has returned additional than $1 million to the community.
