10 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance
The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance show is one of the most prestigious events. It’s a three-day classic car event, set to take place from 3rd to 6th March at Amelia Island, Florida. It will host many fun activities, including a road tour, an RM Sotheby’s auction, a Porsche driving experience, among other activities.
Moreover, there’s also car-themed entertainment for the younger ones and the world-class Concours, which gathers more than 225 historically significant vehicles. This will be an amazing event for classic car enthusiasts and collectors. Save the dates.
9 Salon Privé London
The Salon Privé London is a brand-new event for 2022 and is set to take place on the 21st-23rd of April at the South Lawn of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. And thanks to the iconic classic cars taking part in the event, the Salon Privé London hopes to attract several collectors, owners, and automakers to create a much livelier environment than its more refined Blenheim counterpart, held later in the year.
The Salon Privé event will also feature a handful of activities, from new and luxury models presentations to high-end auctions. The event will also take part in the Concours de Vente, where 60 cars in the spotlight will all be for sale.
8 How Many Left? By Grampian Transport Museum
The Grampian Transport Museum, located about a 30-mile drive west of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, will host the classic car event, How Many Left? on 8th May this year. The event celebrates cars that are now considered “endangered species.” Most of these cars were mass-produced back in the day. However, they have become rare, with less than 500 survivors in the UK.
Moreover, there will also be a special display of BMC/BL classics at the event. For a full-on dose of nostalgia, the How Many Left? Show could be a lot of fun.
7 Goodwood Members’ Meeting
The Goodwood Estate will host one of its annual events with the 79th Members’ Meeting on the 9th and 10th of April this year. The event returns to its springtime slot for 2022. And it does so with a new, one-off race for Frazer Nashes and the inaugural Robert Brooks Trophy, inspired by club racing in the circuit’s heyday.
Formula Three, Can-Ams, Touring Cars, and more have been confirmed for this outstanding event. The occasion is exclusive to the GRRC and the Fellowship members, and the action on track and fun and games of it makes this a special event.
6 Rétro Mobile
The 2022 Rétromobile Edition promises to be spectacular as ever as it welcomes enthusiasts, collectors, and major players in the classic car segment. With the 2021 edition postponed due to uncertainties brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the new 2022 Rétromobile has been scheduled from 16th to 20th March in pavilion 1-3 of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
The event will present a vibrant exhibition featuring vintage cars, motorcycles, lorries, agricultural and armored vehicles. Moreover, the event will also be accompanied by live auctions, dynamic demonstrations, and informative workshops, which will help collectors and car lovers connect for lucrative opportunities.
5 Phillip Island Classic
There definitely has to be drama when the Philip Island Classic Festival returns for 2022 with its varied racing action. This action-packed racing event will not only offer a chance to watch many races, but also an opportunity to get close to some of the newest international stars.
Forty-four events are expected to occur this year on this Australian track, with 540 entries. Each will take to the Tarmac for practice and qualifying on Friday morning before racing kickstart in the afternoon. It’s a three-day program, starting 11th-13th March, and will host various sports racing cars, including Jaguars, Porsche, and Nissans.
4 Techno-Classica Essen
The Techno-Classica Essen is a popular classic car event, not only because of its usual indoor car show fare such as club stands, but because it boasts a huge marketplace. With around 20 halls to showcase vintage cars, prestigious automobiles, spare parts, and chair world club meetings, the Techno-Classica comes in as a more than worthy inclusion in this list.
Well, visitors may not leave with their favorite classic, but at least they’ll undoubtedly learn a thing or two and most certainly won’t get bored.
3 Drive It Day
The 2022 edition of the famous Drive It Day event will take place on 24th April. As the name suggests, car lovers will have the opportunity to drive their cherished cars, from vintage and classic cars to prestigious sports cars and modern-day performance cars.
The fabulous one-day event will take place on some of Scotland’s finest roads. However, numerous clubs and group meetings will be available to mark the day for visitors who prefer something a bit more organized. Those participating are encouraged to buy the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club Drive It Day plate to show participation and help raise funds for the NSPCC.
2 Donington Historic Festival
The Donington Historic Festival is here for 2022 and is slated from 30th April to 1st May at Donington Park, Leicestershire. The event will feature the return of Group C Le Mans monsters from the 1980s. Also in action will be the Ford GT40s, pre-war sports cars, pre-1966 Jaguars, and the historic Touring cars.
Other than watching such iconic machines battle on track, there are also plenty of off-track attractions, from live-action to extensive club displays of classic cars that create a “living motoring museum.” The Donington Historic Festival is arguably one of the best spectator events in the country.
1 The Great British Land Rover Show
For most off-road fans, the Great British Land Rover Show is probably one of the best off-road classic car events. The event will be held on 1st May 2022 at the Newark Showground, where visitors will enjoy amazing attractions, including passenger rides with Land Rover Experience drivers in different models.
Furthermore, there will also be an off-road course with the All-Wheel-Drive Club, a Land Rover Line-Up, club stands, and a Leisure Zone.
Interestingly, the origins of this race weren’t attributed to making it a major motorsport event. In contrast, they were rather humble.
